I haven't been on here for a long time, and I'm going to give it another go. I seem to have a little more time to take care of my site. I really haven't done a blog before but I'm going to try. I can use tips on writing a blog.
I am now getting 3 eggs consistently now and every few days 4. The chickens seem to be happy. Josephine likes to bite so I now have a water bottle of water that I spray at her when she does, it helps.
Today we got our 2nd egg from Gerti it is a bit bigger than the last but not by much.
We got our first egg this afternoon. The girls were hanging around the hen house wich they dont normaly do. Gerti was making so much noise i was afraid the neighbors would get mad. So, when Megan came home from Golf with her Dad we went out to see and Megan brought in a very tiny brown egg. will post pics latter. Let the hens roam the yard today for the first time. They did really well. They are 17 weeks today and looking healthy and happy.
I was on the Backyard Chickens web sit and this is one of the posts. I found it interesting.
"It's time for an easter egg hunt! Eggs are good for a couple of weeks, so if you find them you can float test them. If they float they are bad. If they sink completely they are fresh. If one end goes up, those are older but usually good. Crack those into a separate bowl to be sure before using." This is my first time bloging. But I like my Goats and like to talk about them.
